I can make you thin

Last week, the food cravings and emotional eating really got to me.

I realised I needed to take action. Correlation beween the fatigue and binge eating maybe.

I haven't written so much lately because I've been ashamed at my weakness with giving into the cravings.

So yesterday I listened to paul McKennas I can Make You Thin.

It's a hypnotism track. i listened to it then and today. I will listen to it everyday.

Sometimes eating consumes my mind and I don't want that anymore!!

Nebbish

Nebbish means weak-willed and timid. Today, I have been weak-willed but timid is the last word that could me used to describe me.

From the beginnig: - Green tea, half apple, kaki (pic tomorrow), half litre of water

Snacks: - 5 Little kinder bars, fig yoghurt

Lunch: - Katsu curry and rice (fried chicken), salad and dressing. 2 Japanese teas

3 pieces of chocolate.

For dinner I was supposed to make the mince curry but I was out with friends and we decided to go to dinner. Yaki niku. A various assortment of meats, seafood and vegetable which we cook ourselves on the above barbeque in the middle of the table. Had a flask of hot sake ad 2 small bowls of rice (why not just on???)

I came back and was nearly gonna have some chocolate....but told myself noooooo....and listened to myself...all good.

A Korean affair

kimchi soup and other kimchi bits

A run down of the day: -
Breakfast: - 3 pieces of melon, half an apple, half a litre of water, green tea
Snack : - fig yoghurt
Lunch: - Cabbage soup, chocolate panda biscuits
Dinner: - cabbage fried rice (below) 2 pieces of melon, fig yoghurt, kimchi goodies from Korean friends, yuuzu juice.

I actually felt like going to get more chocolate but I resisted. I know I had some chocolate type things but at least I am reducing my intake.

Creation no.2

I must be on a roll. After living the last few days off my cabbage soup, it was time to make a new dish. This is lettuce fried rice. Except I used cabbage as I still had quarter left over from when I made the soup! I didn't make a big portion though.

Tomorrow I'm going to try my hand at minced meat curry: -
I need; -
200g ground pork 豚ひき肉
1 onion 玉ねぎ
garlic にんにく
vegetable oil サラダ油
tomato juice トマトジュース
80g curry roux カレールウ

Writing these lists helps me learn the words and memorise the kanji.

Snack : - rice chestnut ball (delicious!!), the chocolate things as described above), fizzy lemon drink

I forgot the sake but it was still delicious and there is enough to last me for next few days!

Had... half an apple and yoghurt for breakfast. Chai Tea Latte and Thai noodles for lunch.
One Mongolian fried gyoza.

Dinner above...cabbage and tuna soup (sounds bad but not) and 2 strawberry choc ices...ahhh.

Stone Soup

This is a Japanese cook book by students which has recipies in English and Japanese. I found a recipie for Bacon and Chinese Cabbage Soup.
If I feel better tomorrow, I will buy the ingredients and cook this. I'm going to take the bacon out though, A because of cost and B because not so healthy: -
Ingredients: -
8 leaves Chinese cabbage 白菜 (はくさい)
Japanese leek 長ねぎ(ながねぎ)
Shoga ginger root しょうが
6 oz can of Tuna ツナ (185g)
2 tbsp of Sake 酒 (さけ大さじ2)
2 Tbsp of Mirin みりん(大さじ2)
2 Tbsp of soy sauce 醤油 (しょうゆー大詐欺2)
salt 塩 (しお)
1 tbsp of sesame oil ごま油
5 cups water 水 (みず)

Horrifying

is what has passed my lips today...
Started off well...
Half an apple, one satsuma, a plum yoghurt and a litre of water.
Snack at noon, rice crackers and an onigiri (rice triangle) with prawns, I think.
Got a delivery, was 4 little kinder bars, I ate one, then another then the other 2. I can't stop when i start.
Had another Mikan, some herbal tea, and some hot Yuzo.
Went to the convenience store and got this Rice and pork in a sesame sauce. The pork was quite fatty so left a lot of it. Ahhh, then I had 2 strawberry ice-creams and two packs of Dars chocolate, one chestnut flavour, the other white choc.
This evening, I had another onigiri (but was very fishy so only had 2 small bites) and a bluberry yoghurt.
This might be an incentive to eat healthy.

Salad

A nice healthy title for what I had for my lunch
A.m. Green Tea, 2 cups of water, bowl of white rice

Lunch: - Chicken salad, 1 stick cucumber, 1 carrot stick, plum yoghurt.

Plum yoghurt was actually delicious.

Actually, about 10 mins ago i remembered there was some kinder bars in the cupboard and was going to get them but I thought why. Something I read recently, in my words, said it's like the food devil whispering you want the sugary food. but when I really think about it

Medium size Chai Tea Latte while out shopping.
7 prunes, 4 pieces of dried mango

Beef bourgignon, fried potatoes, balinese style fried rice, glass water.
Now these were all tapas style so not as much as it sounds.

We went out to meet S's friends. There was humous and pitta, I didn't touch. I had 2 glasses of water.

Tomorrow travelling to university so we will be having lots of delicious Japanese food.

Day 0ne...

of my food blog. I'm going to be brutally honest about everything that passes my lips.
My first entry is nothing to be proud of. At 8.30 this morn, I found the other half to the apple kit kat in my bag. Now this was a wrapped bar if two half size wafers. I was going to throw it away but as I have known for a long time, I love food and hate waste. Now one thing that bothers me with this is that when i had the other half last night, I thought how it tasted like nail varnish remover. It should have gone in the bin...it will next time! Later in the morning a wholemeal muffin with spread and strawberry jam was consumed with 2 cups of green tea.
We met a friend for lunch and went to a French restaurant. I had a piece of vegetable quiche and 2 glasses of water. This was literally all that came on a small plate. My friend gave me some of her salad to 'dress' the plate. We stopped for a drink near a newly opened farmers market, where I had a mango juice, one glass of water and owagi, a Japanese desert, rather like that in the picture. I had a small Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks. This is probably something I will ultimately cut down on, as they are a drain on not only the waist line but also the purse.
I avoided 3 samples of foods in the shops!
I ate 2 mushrooms. Why? I don't even like mushrooms but I suppose not a bad thing to eat.
Half and unripe Sharon fruit and a cup of Lady Grey tea (no milk, no sugar). Dinner up date to follow.
